Is tipping a breeze?

On Tuesday Drew Brees posted a statement to his official Twitter account: “In case anyone still cares about this report: I tipped $3 on a takeout order. Had we sat down it would have been 20%”

 Are we expected to tip cashiers now? I can't believe my boy Brees is getting razzed for not tipping a cashier 20%?

Back in the day when I was cleaning bars and playing casual bouncer, I hung with the bar & wait staffs, who tipped 25% to 30% cuz it came back to them later.  I wasn't part of that $$$ cycle but I got some bennies .

I  tip in the 15% to 20% range usually with a random increase to 25% when the  service is exceptional.

The closest I've come to tipping a cashier is leaving a few pennies in the square plastic container on the counter of the 7/11.

8/30/13: Beware of  Visa gift cards at restaurants. $50.00 card balance, 48.00 tab-some places will add up to a 20% gratuity and reject the full value of the card.  I witnessed a person having to place only $40 on the card  and pay the balance + tip with cash. Maybe the wait staff should've handled it differently, but it's irritating that a tip is assumed.  BTW, this warning comes with the card.

#Saints are coming to Baltimore this fall. I know they've been here a few times, but the one visit that sticks out  was a Saints/Dolphins  pre-season game in 1992 at Memorial Stadium on 33rd St. When the Colts "Mayflowered" from Baltimore in 1984, I "adopted" the Saints so I went to the Fins game to boo #donshula who fled from the Colts.

If you're wondering why Baltimore hosted a Saints/Dolphins game, it was part of a plan to get an expansion team.

 I grew up in Baltimore City and rooted for the Colts until they ran away to Indy in 1984. I was fascinated by stories about the city of New Orleans and began  a secondary interest in the Saints when the NFL awarded its 16th franchise to New Orleans on All Saints Day, November 1, 1966.

Speaking of tips: Marcus Davenport, a decent Saints DL, had the top portion of his left pinkie finger amputated earlier in the offseason after breaking a plate from a previous surgery and experiencing an infection. He was a Saints rd1 pick in 2018 from UTSA(CUSA)
