Rappin brown on Cambridge , MD

You never know when history will  jar loose memory fragments. afloat in the cranium . I had crossed the Bay Bridge in two way traffic headed east to deliver a  server to an office in Denton, Md on Thursday, and  saw the Cambridge bridge which evoked a recall  of the names, H Rap Brown and Philip Berrigan.
Of course, the Baltimore 2015 riot  stories are not stale  so I hit the search engine today and found  this Brown's 1967 rant:

Ain't no need in the world for me to come to Cambridge and I see all them stores sitting up there and all them honkies owns them. You got to own some of them stores. I don't care if you have to burn him down and run him out. You'd better take over them stores

Read the link and you may notice some thing don't change. In 1963 it  was AG RFk and today it's AG Lynch .

And most folks will agree that  plenty of things have changed for the better in race relations.

45+ years later, Mosby the Baltimore prosecutor revs up the  mob claiming  basically she'll get those six cops then she appears on stage at a  Prince concert for the  Freddie Gray, the alleged victim. Her actions remind me more of a Jim Crow sheriff. But leave it to 7th district Congressman  Cummings to  tell the biggest whopper:

"Obviously, there are some who want to try it in the media, and Marilyn Mosby has made it very clear that she's not going to do that," he said.

Here's the extra sauce. Mosby has asked for a gag order.
BTW, Mosby and Cummings are black. I guess they skipped a few history lessons.

 Williams also rebuked prosecutors for not providing some evidence to the defense earlier. He ordered the prosecution to provide all evidence it gathered during its independent investigation of Gray's death to the defense by Oct. 28.

Most government jobs in Baltimore City have always gone to members of the Democratic Party so while Mosby was  playing the race card, the city was paying a one-time Neo Nazi. Five (not Goodson) of the six defenendants in the #freddiegray case are suing #mosby in civil court.
Judge Garbis dropped some of the claims but was still considering whether allegations of negligent and malicious prosecution would stand.
#Mosby could face problems is in her unusual role as an investigator in Freddie Gray’s death, and that could strip her of her immunity against the lawsuit.

#Baltimore police  said late Friday night that they have obtained an arrest warrant for #LakiaLetterlough, 25 for the car fires in the Mount Vernon area. Ok, but why was the #ATF invited to the investigation? Was terrorism the initial suspicion?
Apparently the woman arrived at 12:45 a.m. at The Belvedere. A guest at The Belvedere complained about a homeless woman washing clothes in a bathroom sink and a later follow up led to the discovery of two small gas cans in the woman's white shopping bag.

In a 7-1 decision SCOTUS stated that Big Oil could move forward with its attempt to move a case out of Maryland court, which  handed the city of Baltimore City a preliminary setback in its bid to sue more than 20 multinational oil-and-gas companies on allegations they contributed to climate change. One of BIG OIL's arguments is that some of their oil-and-gas exploration efforts have come at the behest of the federal government.

Should Baltimore City have gotten into the hotel business? It looks like business at the Hilton Hotel near Camden Yards wasn't doing well during the pre-pandemic.  Massive crime problems and the MLB season's looming delay will exacerbate this situation: bondholders were given notice this week that the hotel would dip into $3.7 million in reserve funds to keep up on the interest on its $260 million debt.
