Mongooses & Elephants

Yesterday a  fellow sports cyber chatter mentioned this old tune    Gimme gimme good lovin- Crazy Elephant to remind me of the fashions and dancing of the late 60's and early 70's.

So I started thinking about another band from that time period Elephant's Memory, who also backed up John Lennon from time to time. This tune Mongoose- Elephant's Memory has been one of my favorites for a long time.

Mongoose are not immune to venom, some species attack and kill poisonous snakes by cracking the skull with a powerful bite.

Mongooses is the plural according to various dictionary sources although we  want to say mongeese .

I wasn't in a mood to chat about guns, Boston bombings, etc.

I came across the phrase "drinking canned heat",  a nasty  "alcoholic beverage" made from straining alcohol from Sterno, while reading  Ghostheart  by RJ Ellory.  Wonder if this was the source of this 1960's blues band's name. canned heat- going up the country

Re-spinning tune Mongoose and noting that mongoose can get sick or die from a cobra bite, but they make a glycoprotein that binds to the protein in the venom so a moderate amount of snake venom won't hurt them.

Enjoying the fat food police getting upset that Great Britain will delay by a year new rules banning multi-buy deals on foods and drinks high in fat, salt, or sugar.  So I'll re-spin "Fat Man" by Jethro Tull. Yes, I"m aware  that Ian Anderson says I'd rather be a thin man in the tune.
