Black Irish rhymin

Philip Lynott (1949-1986- his father was Guyanese and his mother Irish) was born in England and raised in Dublin. He definitely gave another twist to the term black Irish

Here's one of the many Lynott songs that caught my ears a long time ago was Johnny the fox meets jimmy the weed

Johnny the Fox, hot to hustle Jimmy the Weed, he won't use no muscle
Lynott did push the envelope when it came to rhyming and it was a bit of a stretch to call him a  poet, but he did some great stuff with Thin Lizzy and his Solo in Soho album was decent. Another rhyme  from Ode to a Black man:

If you see Malcom, tell him I'm next...vexed

The long winding history of the term    Black Irish
