One eye on Baltimore City

I lived in Baltimore City from 1959-2004 and ran for the Baltimore City Council (then 1st District) on the GOP slate in 1999. In the 1980s I spent a lot of time in Fells Point/Little Italy area which was a part of the 1st district. Chesley Patterson, the general manager at La Scala restaurant, was found suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest in the 1700 block of Eastern Avenue around 12:30AM on 1/24/22 and later died. On 4/13/22 Samuel Wise was charged with first-degree murder of Patterson.

Some background on Baltimore City expansion.  In 1817 the city expanded as far as North Avenue, a second move in 1888 up to about 40th Street, and a third in the early years of the 20th Century to close to its present day lines.
